Frequently Asked Questions

Services

What products do you use?

We usually clean with products you could even eat - like baking soda, vinegar, citric acid. If we use “ready-made” products, we use eco-friendly brands like Frosch, Sonett, Heitmann…

How do you make sure to clean hygienically?

We work with a color code system: blue = bathroom, green = toilet, red/pink = kitchen, yellow/orange = rest
One of our first steps when we clean a home is to bring the toothbrushes and cups to the kitchen, where we clean it with vinegar solution. Like this, we can make sure that no bathroom cleaning product gets onto your toothbrushes.

How do you clean fast and thoroughly?

We clean with a three-step process: First, tidy up. Second, clean from right to left and from top to bottom. Third, clean the floor.

Where do you operate?
Currently in the following cantons: Zurich, Aargau, Zug (and surrounding areas). We value quality over quantity. So, only once the onboarding process for new caring cleaners runs smoothly, we will expand our services.

Payments

What means of payment do you offer?

Right now, only a bank transfer is possible. At the end of the month an invoice will be sent, which needs to be paid within 14 days.

How do you calculate the price?

Our regular cleaning fee is CHF 53.49 per hour. For speciality cleaning, like deep carpet cleaning, special fees apply.
We know this is higher than most cleaning services, but we are fast and thorough and worth the price. Usually, we agree on a weekly amount of hours, and we stick to it.

Employees

What does it mean that you “take care” of your employees?
- I teach them how to clean so their body gets as little stress as possible. Driven by my own experience with our former cleaning lady, who was an absolute gem but needed to stop working due to problems with her back.
- I help them with learning German. Whenever a non-German speaking employee is with me, you bet I teach them some new words. I think it’s important to speak the local language in order to be able to integrate into society.

- I pay my employees well. For example, they receive a 13th monthly wage at the end of the year. I also pay for public transportation, and time between customer appointments is also paid. And yes, there’s a reason I’m emphasizing things that I would usually say are standard.

General

Why is the company called “Mrs. Fox Cleaning”?

It’s easy: Our founder’s surname is “Volpe,” Italian for “fox.” Fun fact—she’s not Italian, but her husband is. So, if you try speaking to her in Italian, don’t be surprised when she doesn’t understand a word.
